Long time no see!

Super long time no post!

I apologize -

Huge apology for not posting any content this past week err 10 days. As you all know with the holidays things get busy. The family has had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Claudia is doing great.

My time is becoming very limited for blogging but I really want to keep blogging and sharing our life with anyone that is interested. So I've decided to change things up a little bit and start focusing on more vlogging and less blogging! I have a small background in video production and I think vlogging would take less of my time as I'm an awful writer and it takes me forever to write the smallest post haha. So stay tuned and get ready for some (hopefully) exciting and fun family vlogs!

Crazy busy week!

This week has been totally crazy! The thing is crazy is good. We've been having a blast and been trying to get in the Christmas Spirit. I've been so busy I haven't been able to post much on here. I apologize about that and I'm ready to come back full on with content. I also decided to start a YouTube channel to kinda of mirror what I type here. I'm sure the first few videos might be painful to watch but don't worry we will get better haha! So click below like comment or subscribe to our channel. We look forward to interacting with you!

Teddy is doing YouTube

My son wants to be a YouTuber YIKES!

Teddy enjoys watching Youtube - one particular channel, StampyLongHead. I must admit the guy is entertaining (only if you play Minecraft). Teddy asked if he could create a video. Of course a little apprehensive about possibly exploiting my child to who knows who - I had to put a lot of thought into it. After discussing it with Rachele we decided that if he wasn't on camera a lot and mostly showing game play it would be alright..

Last night we created our first Youtube channel and video. We really need to buy an HDMI capture device to up the quality of video but I think it came out alright.

Big Brother @ 17 years old

2001 Changed my life....

When I was a junior in high school I had a huge surprise. I found out I was going to be a big brother - whoa what??? my parents still had.. ehh nevermind!! My Dad was working full time as a metal fabricator and my Mom was a full time student finishing up her degree while also working. It was a crazy year and it was about to be even crazier with the anticipation of a new child in the family!

and just like that I gotta pause this post Landon is having a meltdown will continue tonight... BRAD

Dolly Parton Book Club

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

When we had our first child Teddy, Rachele signed us up for a free book club.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a great way to start your child's book collection. Soon after we applied to join our first book came in the mail. These books are selected based on your child's age so no need to worry about receiving one of Dostoevsky classics for your two year old.

With it being a free service I was really shocked by the quality of content of the books we received. Some of Teddy's favorite books are from Ms Parton's Library. Also we have Landon signed up, he had received a couple duplicates but we just drop those off in the local borrow-a-book box in the neighborhood. If you're interested in trying it out I'll drop the link down below!

50/50 Breakfast

Alrighty now, when it comes to hungry.... ehh starving kids we have the hungriest (sounds like we're proud, we're not😕) . Landon is a food junkie, it really is his number one favorite thing. So much so we had to theme his first birthday party Food.

Waking up this morning before our alarm and after a long night - Claudia fed every hour and Landon found himself in our bed for the majority of the night (really grateful for our king size bed). We got Teddy (4.5years) up and moving. What an emo wreck he was this morning - talk about the wrong side of the bed. He demanded that I dress him while he watched YouTube. Lacking in the energy department and not a sip of coffee yet I complied 😞

Struggling to get Teddy out the door and careful of the way I talked to him as to not send him in a tantrum we made it to the car and to my surprise got him dropped off at school with a smiling face. Oh the roller coaster of emotions children have.

I came home to an eerie silence in the house; the calm before the storm. Landon had just woke up and that meant his internal hunger timer started. This is the window we have from wakeup to feeding and its a short window. If we don't make it on time its a meltdown. Today I didn't make it.

I'm so thankful that Rachele is home! She was able to tame the beast enough for me to fire up a 50/50 breakfast. 50/50 Breakfast is a kinda healthy kinda not. Today I made french toast, I used wheat bread so I felt that was healthy but the syrup not so much. Landon wasn't impressed so I whipped out the Cool Whip, talk about a hit Landon destroyed his breakfast and hopefully with a full belly he can have a full nap :)

BTW - The french toast didnt look like steak in person ⬆⬆⬆

Okay here this one is better ⬇

The ABSOLUTE best baby swing

So after tons of shopping and instore viewing ← (is that a thing/word???) of baby swings we found the right one for us. Our hardest problem was locating one that the back reclined so Claudia didn't have to sleep in one position. The next task was to find one that was large and stable since Landon (15 months) likes to fall into things on his quest to perfect his walking.

Here you go guys....

We love this thing! Almost forgot! That it works on batteries or PLUG IN AC POWER!!

New addition!

The most overwhelmingly, fully felt experiences are the ones that are developed slowly and come together in an instant.
- Me at like 2:00am half asleep! 😎

Last week that thought was realized when we welcomed Claudia into our world. Delivery via a C-section was smooth and with the trained nursing staff we felt "right at home".

We stayed at Erlanger Women's East facility and were super excited about the size of the room. I was able to get comfy on a fat super faux leather couch. Luck was in our favor as Claudia was an incredible sleeper! (like really good slept 4 hours at time)   Also to both or favors she is a great nurser. Selfish me enjoys it for the main reason I don't have to wake up to feed her haha. Honestly we're pleased because we know its the healthiest for her and Rachele.

So here the thing, the number one part of the hospital stay that I despise is company. I love friends and family and I value the time with them buttttt... for some reason I feel like im there to entertain all of them. Im not sure why I feel that but its super stressful! LOL.

Anyway I'm pleased to let everyone know that we were there for minimum time and left on the third morning. Discharge was simple and quick and heading home was much easier thanks to the minivan we added to the fleet last year.

We can't wait to see her grow in the next few weeks and watch that personality develop! Im going to drop some photos right below this text!

Thanks for reading-
BRAD

Who we are!

Welcome to the Fab Family of Five!!!!!  We’re so excited that you are taking time out of your busy schedule to visit our page; we would love to share our life experiences with you.  Beginning on October 23rd, we will be starting a journey that was unexpected – our daughter will be arriving.  Currently we have a four-year-old son and a one-year-old son; we had always planned on two children, but were blessed with a sweet surprise.

My husband, Brad, owns his own landscaping business and I am a first grade special education teacher; while our lives are hectic, we are loving every minute.  We enjoy spending time outside with our boys and going camping.  We have a camper that we have taken on wonderful trips.  Spending time as a family is our number one priority; we want each of our three beautiful children to live a very rich, fulfilling life so that they understand what really matters.  We strive to show the importance of loving each other and enjoying each others’ company.

Our daily schedules keep us quite busy during the school year, but we make sure to spend time together every evening by enjoying dinner together and reading as a family.  Both of our boys love to read and to be read to; they enjoy having undivided attention and exercising their imaginations.  We also have a designated time to have snacks, complete homework, and take care of our responsibilities while still ensuring fun is involved.  Weekends are meant for family time; we spend time doing activities that we all enjoy such as watching movies, going on walks, going camping, or playing outside.  We frequently visit parks and playgrounds to ensure that the boys have as much fun as possible.

My husband and I make time for another too because a strong marriage and happy relationship are vital to living a happy life.  We will go a date at least once a month (thanks to Grandma) and spend time watching television or talking after the boys have gone to bed.  We both believe that setting a great example of how adults should treat each other is very important to the development of our impressionable children.

Thanks again for stopping by, we can’t wait to keep you posted on what’s going on with our Fab Family of Five!
